The legacy that started it all.
Everything Bethrun Foundation does today carries forward what Late Pa. Felix Ola-Olorun Sobowale and Late Madam Elizabeth Faromi Sobowale lived out quietly, long before this foundation had a name.
A legacy of compassion and self-reliance.
Bethrun Foundation supports the less privileged, motherless children, widows, widowers, young people and women, with skills, education, and opportunities that turn dependency into self-reliance.
To create a lasting legacy of compassion.
To create a lasting legacy of compassion, empowerment and positive transformation by supporting vulnerable individuals, families and communities, while helping people become self-reliant and productive members of society.
Our Vision, Mission & Objectives
Who Bethrun Foundation is, and the belief that shapes every project we run.
Every legacy starts small, often at home, with one person who simply couldn't walk past someone in need. For Bethrun Foundation, that person was our founder's mother. Long before there was a name, a logo, or a registered organization, there was a woman known throughout her community for one thing: she opened her home, her hands, and her heart to whoever needed them.
Alongside her husband, she fed people who were hungry, sat with people who were grieving, and gave without expecting anything back. She never called it charity. To her, it was simply how a life should be lived. That quiet, everyday compassion became the seed of something bigger, and years later, it grew into Bethrun Foundation, a name and a structure built to carry her legacy forward and reach even further than she ever could alone.
It is also why soulwinning sits alongside the practical work we do. Her compassion was never only about material things. It was about restoring hope to people who felt forgotten, which is exactly what this part of our work continues today, open to everyone, regardless of faith or background.
The two lives behind this legacy.
To create a lasting legacy of compassion, empowerment and positive transformation by supporting vulnerable individuals, families and communities, while helping people become self-reliant and productive members of society.
Our mission is to support the less privileged, motherless children, widows, widowers, young people and women by providing meaningful assistance, skills acquisition, empowerment opportunities and educational support.

Four projects, one shared purpose.
Our work reaches the people carrying the most: the less privileged and motherless children, school children, the elderly, and women and youth building a livelihood.
Support for the Less Privileged & Motherless Children
Financial, material and social support for individuals and families experiencing hardship, including children in motherless homes, who receive educational materials, food, clothing and other essentials.
School Children Support
Educational resources and other forms of support for children from disadvantaged backgrounds, helping their development and academic success.
Elder Care, Widows & Widowers

Women & Youth Empowerment
Practical, income-generating skills for women and young people, encouraging entrepreneurship, independence, and sustainable livelihoods.
Practical skills, sustainable income.
Beneficiaries don't just learn a skill. They get guidance on turning it into a livelihood, and are encouraged to employ and train others in turn.
Hope, restoration, and a way back.
Not every need is material. Bethrun Foundation also reaches people who are struggling, vulnerable, or disconnected from their faith and community.
Soulwinning is about presence as much as provision, sitting with people who feel forgotten, and offering spiritual, emotional and practical support without judgment.
Through prayer, counsel, and consistent follow-up, we walk with individuals back toward faith, community, and a renewed sense of purpose. This work is open to everyone. It is not limited to Christians alone.
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives... to set at liberty them that are bruised." (Luke 4:18)
"Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." (Matthew 25:40)
"He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds." (Psalm 147:3)
From humble beginnings to something bigger.
What our work has actually looked like: children supported, elders visited, women and youth trained, communities reached. We started small, and we're growing it, one project at a time.
